Week 8: Don’t Have Time to Meditate? Make the Time.!

-But, I just don’t have time to meditate…

-If you don’t have twenty minutes to delve into yourself through meditation, then that means you really need two hours…

That’s because while “your mind is the part of your body you use the most, it’s also probably the part you spend the least amount of time taking care of.”

Russell Simmons, from Success Through Stillness

How much time do we invest in DELIBERATELY keeping our mind awesome?

Being still has been the most difficult thing for me to do during my MKMMA experience. Even though I’m use to be a quiet, introverted person, it is hard to me to take the time to meditate. Perhaps that is precisely the reason it has been hard to me to achieve higher levels of success in my life…

Let’s be clear, people think I’ve been very successful. I don’t. Having so many different professional licenses in so many fields doesn’t make me feel successful. To me, being successful is way more than that. being successful is living the life I’m destined to live. It’s having the time and the money to take care of what is actually important to me in life: family, liberty, legacy…

I think that is the reason I have procrastinated in finishing my DMP also… In a very creative way, I’ve been sabotaging myself in the process of achieving what is important in my life…

PS. What is important to you? What do you want to achieve in life? What is your Mayor purpose in Life? That are the two mayor needs you want to fulfill in your life? Tell me about… Perhaps we have more in common that we might think…

  1. Reading your post I was thinking that we are very similar. I too have many licenses and things that I have done ( disclaimer: I only have a two year degree) but I never felt fulfilled or “successful” which made me quit and become a jack of all trades master of non. The song from U2 rings in my ears…. But still haven’t found what I am looking for….

  2. I love to read your posts. They give me a lot of inspiration in my life. As you said – all this thing that you achived are from outside… and you can have as many as you like, but until you feel accomplished inside you will always seek for something more.. Inner peace is the one that I’m looking for.. gal in the glass – she is helping me a lot!! 😉

  3. I love your post. Cool picture at the beginning too. You are right, you need to feel successful because of what is inside you not external. Keep working on the inner self and the outer will get to where you desire.

  4. Your post is terrific. You are so right about the feeling of success coming from the inside. Since beginning the ‘sit’, I have come to cherish it. After decades, I have started to know me and I am enjoying this relationship. Looking forward to its development. Cheers Ivan. Well done!

  5. Hi! Honestly:
when I read the about page I thought that we are completely different.
    I’ve never met you, but I immediately had an opinion…: – /
Then I read this post and I recognize myself. I could write the same difficulties, the same sabotage, the same procrastination…I’m sorry for my opinion (which bring me back to day 1 of the Mental Diet) 😀
Thank you for sharing your experience in this way, I love the way you write!

  6. Thank you so much for your honesty and transparency! I so relate to your post and found myself nodding my head in agreement while reading it. When I first went to your blog and saw all of your credentials and certifications I wasn’t sure what to think. However, when I read your post, I do see that we truly have much more in common than my initial thought, which in itself was another lesson for me. Thank you again. I look forward to reading your other posts.
